Bachelor of Science

  • Industrial Design Engineering (4 years)

  • Industrial Design Engineer (with BSc. degree)
  • Recognizable in the Czech Republic through certification by local university
    • During your studies you will acquire 240 ECTS which is perfectly sufficient to get the degree recognized at Bachelor level equivalent in the Czech Republic where 180 ECTS are required.

In a major study this course mixes technical courses, arts and humanities. This specialization covers three main areas: industrial, graphic and fashion design. There is an opportunity to focus on the design of vehicles, spatial layout, design of packaging and promotional products, web design (UX – user experience), furniture design and other areas of design.

Specialty combines strict, logical and consistent engineering practice with artistic, creative and artistic attitudes. The aim is to balance the engineering and artistic training which become complementary, enriching one another and get successfully applied synergy between the two. Students receive training with a pragmatic focus on creating market products with claims of high aesthetic and operational value.

Students majoring in “Industrial Design Engineering” – bachelor degree, study the following subjects during the four year of bachelor studies:

Admission requirements

  • Drawing and Composition
    • On July 3, 2017, students will present their drawings
  • Secondary school degree
  • Submit application till April 20, 2017

Competitive examination in drawing

To check visual and artistic and aesthetic possibilities of the candidate to develop a picture of the still life composition of geometric objects, industrial products (technical components) or household items. Competitive examination in composition is a test of visual and artistic and aesthetic possibilities of the candidate for the construction of shape and colour composition in particular settings – visual field with plain or volume impact, taking into account a defined geometric elements and using a number of colours.

When submitting application, students will need to present their high school marks in mathematics and the highest of physics, informatics or information technologies as these help to rank the applicants.

International cooperation opportunities

Students can spend a semester at selected universities in Germany or travel through Erasmus+ grants to a cooperating university or a company (for internship). These opportunities are constantly growing as students can enjoy shared benefits brought to them not only by CBU, but also TUS.
